Good Morning Everyone! My first content post and I could not be more excited! I really hope you enjoy the content I post and i’d love to get your feedback and suggestions for topics and posts on here. My first post is going to talk about how soon in life self worth starts and how important it is to reassure your child, cousin, sister, mother, etc. just how important they are and that nothing, including their gender is an obstacle.
The other night my 4 1/2 year old daughter Charleigh said something that really just started a fire in me to get my creative juices flowing. At just 4 years old my daughter was listening to The Lion King’s “I just can’t wait to be king” and she said to me, “Mommy, why can’t Simba wait to be King?” My response was, “because baby, when he grows up he will become King after his daddy.” Charleigh’s response was, “I want to be a boy so I can be King one day.” I quickly responded with, “oh honey, you don’t need to be a boy to RULE!”
In today’s time, so many people are busy comparing themselves to others and trying to “keep up with the Joneses ” but if we took more time to focus on ourselves and appreciate how great we were, life would be a little easier on us. Unfortunately for us, we are only human so it’s natural for us to do that. I want to teach my daughter that she can do anything she wants and puts her mind to. Her being a girl has nothing to do with how successful she will be. I feel like this is the Women’s Movement and so many women are supporting other women, empowering their right, and their voice. I recently got really into Podcasts and a few of my all time favorite Podcasts are hosted by women such as; Coffee Convos Podcast by Lindsie Chrisley and Kail Lowry and Get Real! Podcast by Caroline Hobby. Coffee Convos talks more about the life of being a mom and the daily struggles and successes of their lives as influencers in the spotlight. Get Real! Talks about the wives of Country Singers who share their secrets to a successful marriage, putting God first, using their platform for good, and many other things.
Although I can’t relate to them being in the spotlight in Coffee Convos, their realness and humor in this crazy world is relatable. I think hearing that other women even living a different lifestyle than you still go through the same struggles and trials as myself helps me realize that it’s ok to be frustrated or to feel stressed. As long as you pick yourself back up and be your best self, you have won! After all, mom’s don’t get near enough recognition as they should but I didn’t really appreciate what mothers do until I became one. Without us, what would this world really be?! We can create a human life inside of us, nurture it, love it, care for it, and raise it. No matter how stressful it is or how exhausting it is, nothing is more rewarding than watching your child grow to be a great human! Now, The Get Real! Podcast is about Caroline Hobby hosting country singers wives and their take on how they make their marriage work, their daily struggles, what they are doing to use their platform for good, and being normal in a not so normal life as a celebrity’s wife. She talks with so many amazing women like Hayley Hubbard (Tyler Hubbard’s Wife from FGL), Brittney Kelley (Brian Kelley’s Wife from FGL), Katelyn Brown (Kane Brown’s Wife), and so many other great women! It really inspired me how they are normal people just like us who happened to marry someone with a big name for themselves. Brittany Kelley and her husband started a business called Tribe Kelley influenced by her jewelry making Etsy business she started while she was in college to help her get through school. Caroline Bryan (Luke Bryan’s Wife) started Brett’s Barn for her 7 month old niece that passed away for special needs and sick children to come pet and love on the animals. SO MANY WOMEN DOING GREAT THINGS! I love it!
This brings me back to my statement to my 4 1/2 year old daughter Charleigh. “OH HONEY, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A BOY TO RULE!” Although the women I mentioned above have different platforms and may be well known in the entertainment world, they started out just like you and I. They took the reigns on their success and their lives and decided to make something of themselves. So even if you’re not a celebrity, or have a big bank account, stay at home mom, work full time, or whatever your journey is, YOU CAN RULE!
